1. What kind of business is Contraco?

Contraco is a professional services and technology company with an expertise in the emerging markets of Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. The origin of the company is in the search business and was founded in Germany in 1998 by Frank Meltke. Since its inception, Contraco has focused on selling technology solutions and professional services in the search, eCommerce, and supply chain lines of business. As Contraco has increased the number of Business Development Partnerships and rounded out its full life-cycle support capabilities in recent years, we have added Merger & Acquisition services in order to support venture and private equity customers who have increased their activity in Contraco’s lines of business.

3. How do you charge for your services?

Like most professional service companies, each customer relationship is comprised of a different set of services, geographies, and technologies to be supported. Additionally, nearly all customers view service providers in different ways - some insist on significant pay for performance and success fees, other look for simple, project-based time and materials terms. It is Contraco’s desire to contract its services with a large component of results-based fees. We believe it best aligns Contraco and the customers’ ultimate goals, and it improves the teaming relationship of all individuals involved. As would be expected of a “risk required” contract, Contraco seeks above-average returns for taking a results-based fee arrangement..

4. Which industries are you experienced in?

Contraco has customer experience focused in the search & search application industries, various eCommerce industries, and the telecommunications, wireless networks, digital voice, and Internet Service Provider (all transmission media) industries. In addition to its end-customer industry experience, Contraco works with venture and private equity customers who in turn make investments and deploy our services in many different industries in addition to the core industries listed above.

5. What is Brisbane, and can I license it?

Brisbane is a sophisticated middle tier Platform for confederated search developed by Contraco to provide its customers with integrated search solutions from several industries. As such, it is a dedicated product to the solution set it is creating and is not a stand-alone product The simple answer to the licensing question is yes.

6. Who are you a reseller for, and which product(s)?

Contraco is a premier partner of Fast (www.fastsearch.com), a search engine application provider. We are their largest reseller in Europe, and are a certified integration partner to install their product with corporate clients. Additionally, we embed Fast in many of our operational search business within Contraco, and position their application in several of our bundled solutions.

7. Are you a search company like Google and Yahoo?

We wish we were. Contraco has a core business in creating and deploying search solutions - meaning we often are connecting several non-Contraco search products into a combined, stand-alone solution for a customer. Our solutions tend to always be private search-focused (versus the public search markets of Google and Yahoo), and are much more commercially designed to the customers revenue model.

8. How are your Business Development Partnerships structured?

They are structured on a retainer plus success fee basis. The balance between the retainer and success fee is driven by the revenue model of the customer, the maturity of the customer's product, and the target market entry cost variable. Contraco will rarely entertain a Business Development Partnership absent a success fee driving joint success alignment.

9. How long have you been in business, and what are your total revenues?

Contraco was founded in Germany in 1998. Contraco is a private company, and does not publicly disclose its revenue, although Contraco has been profitable since its inception in 1998 and continues to generate revenues in excess of $25 million. As part of disclosure in certain significant customer agreements, Contraco will disclose certain financial and key executive information within legal guidelines.

Contraco has delivered services and solutions to over 40 customers throughout the world. Some of our globally recognized customers include Deutsche Telekom, Telecom Italia, T-Mobile, T-Online, Trinidad Express, Yahoo! Search Marketing, RossBusinessConsult and Microsoft Network (MSN).
